Natural materials

Our commitment to quality also extends to our choice of materials. The hot, humid climate on the island of Bonaire places heavy demands on woodwork. That is why we prefer the highest quality mahogany for all woodwork that is exposed to the elements. We personally select the mahogany at a reliable supplier in Portugal. You might be interested to know that mahogany originates from the West Indies. Mahogany has a generally straight grain and is usually free of voids and pockets. It has a reddish-brown colour, which darkens over time, and displays an attractive reddish sheen when polished. It has excellent workability, is very durable, and resists wood rot. That is why it is our choice for doors and window frames.
